Privacy Policy

Summary

LocatAlert is a location alarm. To wake you at the right place, the app needs your device location. Geofencing runs on your device; we don’t sell your data, and your location is shared with another person only when you approve their place-based request. You can delete your data or your whole account at any time.

Information we collect

• Account information — when you sign in, we receive your email address, display name, and a provider identifier from Firebase Authentication, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple. You may also use the app as an anonymous guest.
• Location data — precise device location, used to show your position on the map and to trigger your alarms and reminders when you reach a place. If you enable background alarms, the app uses location while it is closed so the alarm can still fire.
• Content you create — the places, alarms, and requests you save, their coordinates and radius, and any messages you send on a request thread. This is stored in Google Firestore so it syncs across your devices.
• Purchase information — if you subscribe to LocatAlert Pro, your subscription status is managed through RevenueCat and the Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive whether your subscription is active; we never receive or store your card or payment details.
• Technical data — standard identifiers and diagnostic data provided by Firebase to keep the service working and secure.

How we use your information

• To trigger your location alarms and reminders at the right place and time.
• To sync your places, alarms, and requests across your devices.
• To deliver place-based requests between you and friends you’ve connected with, and to show whether a request was followed through.
• To manage your LocatAlert Pro subscription and entitlements.
• To provide support, maintain security, and prevent abuse.

How your location is handled

Geofencing — deciding when you’ve entered or left a place — is performed on your device. Your continuous location is not streamed to our servers. When you approve a request from a friend, your arrival at that specific place is recorded so the sender can see the request was completed; your live location is never shared with them. We do not sell location data or use it for advertising.

Who we share data with

We share data only with service providers that make the app work:

• Google — Firebase (authentication, database, messaging) and Google Maps.
• Apple — Sign in with Apple and App Store subscriptions.
• RevenueCat — subscription management.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users’ safety. We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention and your choices

You can edit or delete individual places, alarms, and requests in the app at any time. You can delete your entire account — and all associated data — from Settings → Delete account, or by following our account deletion instructions. When you delete your account we remove your profile and content; residual copies in backups are purged on our providers’ standard cycles.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email support@locatalert.com.

Security

Data in transit is encrypted, and access to stored data is restricted by security rules so that only you — and, for a shared request, its participants — can read it. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

LocatAlert is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

International transfers

Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for these transfers.

Changes

We may update this policy; we’ll revise the “effective” date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
